"Cyclops" is an installation. A mobile mounted on a camera tripod is displaying a little red oval that beats and vibrates regularly.

Every two minutes, the program (Midlet) scans electronic devices around and sends the animation itself to one of them via Bluetooth. Then every device is registered in a list.

So, anybody who's passing by may receive by surprise an alert which ask him to accept a file to download.

This kind of program is commonly used as a virus. But I'm working with a different aim. What interests me is to give objects in an Art Fair where everything is on sale. This animation shows a very simple movement, simulating a simple organism which tries to survive by duplication.

The title refers to the Greek mythology. Cyclops is part of a race of giant with a single eye in the middle of its forehead. This unique eye suggests a rather primitive state of being and a regression or a loss of certain senses. The mobile is able to see in a sequential way.
